Welcome to this week’s edition of Dungeon Synth Sunday, with another instalment of Arthur Rackham’s illustrations to Wagner’s “The Rhinegold and The Valkyrie“ opera in the intro banner. For my first feature this week, I am honoured to unveil the new Wych Elm album, Wych Elm II – the third foray into sombre leafy melancholia, from the inspirational English artist, Orcus. Eight ethereal enchantments; gossamer melodies floating like silvery airborne silk between delicately budding branches, each track blossoming into a transportive reverie of waking dream. The two tapes of the previous releases are among my most treasured, and I very much look forward to playing these delicately profound pieces in physical form.
