Recorded in 1974 on the Thor Label (1007) in Glasgow by organ drenched Prog/Psych band Captain Marryat, just 250 copies of this `self titled` LP were pressed up and most were sold at gigs by the band. The original 1st pressing came in a very thin fragile laminated `flipback` sleeve with distinctive `Made In Scotland` generic machine printed labels. Though it has now been reissued in other formats its these original 1st pressings that attract a top price, a copy sold in 2015 for £3439 Why not subscribe as I post rarities regularly! Dance Of Thor 27:03 In 1974 the band booked a recording session at a Glasgow studio to record a 2 track single, however the engineer said the time they had booked was enough to record an album if they wanted to. So they recorded the 5 tracks they had already composed and added a sixth track which was an improvised jam. The LP was then pressed up on the Thor label which did not sign or promote bands but had the contacts to manufacture and produce an LP. It was then up to the band to self promote hoping EMI or Chrysalis would follow up there interest, this was not the case so most were sold at gigs. Jimmy Rorrison (vocals, drums) Hugh Finnegan (bass, vocals) Allan Bryce (organ, vocals) Tommy Hendry (vocals, acoustic guitar) Ian McEleny (lead guitar, acoustic guitar)
