Also known as maglev, magnetic levitation is a transport system that suspends, guides and propels vehicles. It’s reportedly the first time that permanent maglev technology has ever been applied to an air rail train. According to state media, its passenger volume is about half of the subway volume, but the ride only costs one-fifth that of the subway. The new train features energy-saving and other green technology features and boasts strong climbing ability with a top speed of 120km/h (75mph).
