♪♫♪ ♪♫♫♪ For the first two Paganini concertos, my favorite recordings have always been by Shmuel Ashkenasi, but I like the recording by Kogan just as much. Other recordings I like are by Rabin, Friedman, Szeryng, Kaler and the video Mintz made playing Paganini's violin. After actually listening to clips I downloaded of this about 15 years ago from napster, I only recently decided to buy a legitimate copy of this only to find it is out of print which is shocking in hindsight because I would have to says this recording is almost as good - the tempo of the first movement is just a hir fast but the cadenza especially impressed me. This is truly a recording that should be heard and not be forgotten so I had to upload it. As for Vieuxtemps 5, I have always liked Zukerman's recording best but I equally like the recordings of Kogan and Mintz. I can't really say I like any of those recordings more than this one.
