New revelations about the Wagner uprising. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the head of the mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin wanted to detain the chiefs of Russia's armed forces in his rebellion. The paper says the defense minister Sergei Shoigu and the chief of the general staff, Valery Gerasimov, discovered the planned uprising, and were able to avoid being captured by Wagner troops. The New York Times separately claims a high-ranking Russian general had advance knowledge of Prigozhin’s plans. The Kremlin denies these claims. If Prigozhin plotted to capture the defense Minister Shoigu and chief of staff Gerasimov, how close did he get to them?
