Lapidary sphere machine

Using my #lapidary #spheremachine to turn a jasper rock into a polished sphere. This machine was #homemade with common hardware items obtained from #Lowes and #HomeDepot. It uses 1/4“ x 3“ steel plate and regular door hinges to hold the motors. The motors are surplus gear motor and turn at 80 RPM. A fan was attached to the end to cool it. The cups are common iron pipe reducers. This is just a quick video of the course grind at 80 grit. It uses PVC couplers for the remaining grits.
