Filmed live on the 7th May 1964 by Granada TV a Manchester based TV station (thanks to producer John Hamp) here's Sister Rosetta Tharpe in her element at the abandoned Wilbraham Road Station. 0:00 Introduction by Cousin Joe Pleasants 1:00 Didn't It Rain 4:47 Trouble In Mind Backed by: Otis Spann: Piano Ransom Knowling: Bass Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith: Drums Fans who were lucky enough to get tickets–some 200 of them–were instructed to meet at Manchester’s Central Station at 7:30 that evening for a short train ride to the abandoned station in Whalley Range. When the train pulled in at Wilbraham Road, the audience poured out and found seats on the platform, making their way past Muddy Waters, who was singing “Blow Wind Blow.” The opposite platform, decorated to look like an old railway station in the American South, served as a stage for a lineup of now-legendary blues artists including Waters, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Cousin Joe, Otis Spann and Reverend Gary Davis. I don't make anything colourising these videos so please support the channel with the tip link here if you can its greatly appreciated! If any videos get blocked I tend to post them on my other social media platforms, so have a look if you don't want to miss anything!
