In June 2024, Julian Assange pleaded guilty and was released from custody. Shortly thereafter, he told his wife that he was thinking about how to become politically active again. In May of this year, Assange attended the Cannes Film Festival wearing a t-shirt with the names of Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces since 2023.
