Alex in Japan: Episode 5 Working on projects for Checkpoint has led to some incredible experiences, but this one was truly unforgettable: a visit to the RWB Headquarters in Kashiwa, Chiba, where I had the chance to visit Nakai-san and his closest friends and associates. As soon as I walked into the workshop, I knew I was in a special place. Surrounding me were some of the most iconic RWB builds in the world, each one bearing the unmistakable stamp of Nakai-san's creativity and passion. For someone who had long admired his work, being in the presence of this much creativity was a dream come true. What struck me most about the experience was how welcoming and gracious Nakai-san and his friends were. Despite being busy with their work, they took the time to show us around, answer our questions, and share stories about their builds. It was clear that Nakai-san had a deep love for his craft, and that he was happy to share it with anyone who was interested. We were never rushed and were made to feel welcome. One of the most impactful moments of my visit to the RWB Headquarters was the opportunity to see Nakai-san's personal aircooled Idlers race car “Rotana.“ This was a car that I had grown up reading about on Speedhunters and watching videos of on YouTube, and to see the car that lives in my subconscious in person was truly a surreal experience. Rotana is a car that has achieved legendary status in the automotive world, and for good reason. It is as beautiful as it is focused, with a unique and unforgettable aesthetic. To witness it in person, and to see the care and attention that Nakai-san had put into every detail, was nothing short of awe-inspiring. As I looked at the Rotana, I felt a deep sense of appreciation for all that Nakai-san had accomplished. He had taken a passion for cars and turned it into something truly remarkable, inspiring countless others along the way. It was a reminder that when we pursue our passions with dedication and commitment, we have the power to create something truly extraordinary. One of the highlights of the day was meeting Nakai-san's beagle puppy, Bagel. It was a funny and endearing reminder that even the most accomplished people in the world have a soft spot for their furry friends. As I left the RWB Headquarters that day, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experience, and for the opportunity to meet Nakai-san and his team. It was an experience I will always treasure, and one that will continue to motivate and inspire me for years to come. ______________ Visit our website: Shop now: Join us on Discord: Order the Style Bandits photobook here: ______________ Enjoy!
