VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this lovely fantasy landscape image of “RED RIBBON DANCER“ with acrylic paint. You'll learn simple painting techniques that will help you to develop a realistic natural looking body of water with a distant island. Connecting the island to the main land are a series of stepping stones leading to the enchanted land with a large red tree, which become the pathway for the graceful dancer to hop, skip or jump across to get to the magical place in front of her. The body of water surrounding the island could be a lake, river, pond, stream or ocean. The dancer could be a fairy or a ballerina who is dancing to the rhythm of mother nature's sounds from the rippling or crashing water, maybe she here's some birds off in the distance or the sound of wind rolling through the gentle clouds. Let your imagination steer the movement of this painting! You'll learn how to add atmospheric dimension in the sky and in the ripples of the water by painting in a loose abstract style using monochromatic colors giving the illusion of a depth in and around the rocks. You'll also learn how to paint a representational silhouette of the contemporary dancer with a simple process that starts with a stick figure that will help you build the body with realistic proportions on her arms, legs, torso and head, as well as, properly placed highlights and shadows, she will come to life with a translucent dress blowing in the wind. The powerful tree waiting for her has great texture within the bark and leaves, which will give it a 3d look. This tranquil natural scene will have energy and be exciting to look at. With the construction of the composition you'll learn to paint this realistic looking outdoor waterscape with a captivating tree, rock stairs and an athletic female twirling her fabric ribbon in the air. You can customize it to be the representation of any people that you would like, or any style dancer or tree that interests you. Make it your own with a tap dancer, a fairy, a ballerina, or even a hip-hop dancer... just have fun with it! This painting is sure to impress the viewer and compliment the décor of any room. Using only 3 brushes and 4 colors we'll create this conversational black and white masterpiece with a magnificent lively energy in a charming tranquil setting. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!
