I was extremely fortunate in 1979 to receive a Gold Record for the beautiful ballad “Lead Me On“ by Maxine Nightingale. I was told by Susan Wax, the Southern Secondary Promotions Director for RCA Records, the company that manufactured and distributed Maxine's song on Windsong Records, that my willingness to add a ballad to our playlist at WBSR in Pensacola, FL and report it to the national trade publications during a time dominated by Disco and Dance Music was the determining factor.
