NEUROvisor clinical EEG system - the brain biopotentials analyzer is designed for recording bioelectric potentials of brain activity and analyzing their dependence on time for diagnostic purposes. ERP/EP – Event related Potentials / Evoked Potential. An event-related potential (ERP) is any stereotyped electrophysiological response to an internal or external stimulus. In simple terms it is any measured brain response that is the direct result of a thought process or perception. The video covers 3 popular tests for measuring electrophysiological response to a stimulus: - Visual EP (chess pattern) - a flashing chessboard to detect damage or injury to the visual system. - VCPT ERP - continuous performance test. Target and non-target stimuli appear on the screen in the form of cartoon images without letters and numbers. The test is often used to evaluate ADHD in children and adults. - Audio MMN - Mismatch negativity. Occurs upon presentation of visual and auditory stimuli, in response to a deviant (rare) stimulus in the sequence of presented standard stimuli. Used to diagnose diseases of the nervous system (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, schizophrenia, etc.) EP/ERP is used by professionals in the neurosciences, cognitive psychology, cognitive sciences, and psychophysiological research. Module methods are well suited for studying the rate of neural activity In clinical research, EP/ERP has been used to treat neurological conditions such as ADHD, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, head trauma, stroke and obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc. Advantages: ○ P300 - ERP component elicited in the process of decision making ○ VN400 - ERP component elicited to visual inclusion of meaningful words in sentence contexts ○ Go/No-Go - test of variation of decisions about spatial complexity or functional connectivity of visual objects by EEG ○ Mathematics test of brain’s reaction in the process of solving mathematical problems ○ ECPT test to assess the ability to focus on constant activity ○ VCPT test to assess the ability to focus on visual stimulus EP/ERP package is an option for NEUROVISOR clinical EEG system. EEG amplifier NVX36/NVX52 is not included in the EP/ERP package.
