Marilyn purchased the home for under $100,00 from the Pagen family who had outgrown it. She began living in the home in March 1962 while the home was extensively renovated. Wearing a green gardening hat, Marilyn planted an herb garden & a variety of flowering plants. Tiles on the doorstep bore the Latin inscription “Cursum Perficio“ translating to “My journey ends here.“ ( placed by its oweners )
