In this clip: Sarah Jessica Parker (0:39) and Christopher David Noth. Dedicatee: Mr. Big/John James Preston (6 June 1998 - 9 December 2021). About this clip: Carrie Preston returns from The Manhattan School of Music, after attending Lily Goldenblatt's piano concert (once again not very positive for Carrie and Big). Her dexterous fingers on the keyboards appear to orchestrate a somber background score to Big succumbing to heart-attack post workout, restoring Carrie Bradshaw for us. The writers effectively combine angioplasty past of Big and Lily's ominous presence in their matrimony for an “And-Just-Like-That-Big-Died“ moment. Importance of this scene: The screen-writers have (un)wittingly created an iconic moment on T.V. romance quite akin to its cinematic equivalent in Titanic's Rose DeWitt Bukater whose dubitable credentials as a potential savior as she fails to save Jack Dawson despite the raft on icy waters of the Atlantic big enough to accommodate both of them kickstarted the perennial question why Rose didn't save Jack that even vexes the social-media-generation of today ever since 1998. Similarly, why Carrie didn't save Big will not age well and likely spawn meme-worthy dark-humor in its wake. Warning: In case someone gets a heart-attack, don't be a Carrie.
