French Pianist Alexandre Tharaud is one of the few musicians with a strong interest in film (in 2012, he performed the soundtrack to “Amour“ by Oscar-winning director Michael Haneke). For this visually stunning film by pianist and director Stéphane Aubé, Tharaud performs a version of Bach’s legendary “Goldberg Variations“ in an intimate, beautifully photographed setting – constantly keeping viewers on their toes.
