“No amount of blood could quench the warlord's thirst. The memory of his hand reaches for one more throat.“ Bartuc the Bloody. Bartuc was powerful, ambitious, and ruthless. He relished in embracing the powers of Hell, but trusted no-one but himself, and refused to ally with or serve any other mortal. Augustus Malevolyn was of the opinion that Bartuc's failing was that he was not a career soldier, that he was first and foremost a sorcerer and as such, had been unable to react to sudden shifts in the battle that an actual commander would be able to. It is possible that Bartuc was once the Warlord of Blood, a Vizjerei Mage who was in rivalry with his brother, Horazon. However, this is not certain. They both seem to be the same character because of the same name and same blood reference, but this Bartuc could just be a tribute to the Warlord of Blood. This Bartuc could just have acted similar to the Warlord and so earned a similar title.
