The movie “Once upon a Time in America“ once caused me a culture shock. Before that, I had no idea that it was possible to plunge into the hypnotic atmosphere of another world for almost 4 hours like this. I heard how music can make a movie. Sergio Leone has been hatching the idea of the film for 20 years, and it turned out to be perfect. A poignantly sad, romantic crime saga about friendship, love and betrayal. Surprisingly, there were not many films similar in atmosphere and they were shot by another Italian Giuseppe Tornatore. In 1988, he shoots in the same spirit, only without crime, the New Paradiso cinema. And again the magic and music of Ennio Morricone. After 10 years, he removes the hypnotic Legend of the pianist - an atmospheric musical masterpiece. Who wrote the music is not difficult to guess In 2009, Tornatore for the third time took a swing at creating his signature masterpiece – the film “Baaria“. Also warm, romantic, atmospheric, but not that. Everything. I don't remember any more similar films. In my opinion, these and hundreds of other films took place, including thanks to the music of Ennio Morricone. And he wrote music for 527 films!!! In my musical experiments, I really wanted to touch the great music of the maestro. Try to connect synthesizers with his orchestra. Keyboard arpeggios playing through the whole theme, soft Roland drums, flashes of analog synthesizers in the background, old-school solo. I perfectly understood the complexity of the task and wrote this remix at the very beginning of my musical creativity, not knowing how to do much yet. But the music turned out to be quite personal, left warm memories of the sweet process of creation. And I, of course, kept it for myself as a keepsake… The footage of the film has been restored and made in 4K. ©2010
