In a graphics paper released at SIGGRAPH 2023 Gaussian Splatting is taking the graphics world by storm. Similar to NeRF, a way of recreating scanned real world objects from video or photo with stunning results, the major difference with Gaussian Splatting is a big deal for game developers... it can work in real-time! There are already Gaussian Splatting implementations in Unreal Engine (paid) and Unity (free! ;) ). So, we check out the free version in this video.
