When Uzbekistan became an independent state in 1991 after the fall of Soviet Union, a musical boom followed in the country. Loads of young dance pop groups appeared singing in Uzbek (for example very popular group Bolalar) inspired by Russian groups like Laskoviy May. The group Firdavs System released this cool track “Uzbek System“, garnished in some stolen house elements, on their first album in 1991 (tape only). My language skills in Uzbek is too weak to figure out what kind of “system“ they are referring to...
