Titles read: 'Oliver Wakefield' (on picture album page). Pathe Studio, London. Photo album page is turned to show still of Oliver Wakefield as commentator introduces Wakefield “with his halting, stuttering and amusing quippy style“. Still 'unfreezes' to show Oliver Wakefield, a young man in full evening dress who speaks in an 'upper class' manner with a 'halting, stuttering' style of delivery. He talks of self made men, stiff upper lips, history including Cromwell, Nell Gwynne, “a night with King Arthur on his round table“ etc. He stutters and mixes up his words throughout. Note: Nell Gwyn and Nell Gwynne for search purposes. Could be viewed as a 1930s version of a Hugh Grant character! - SL. This was originally an item in Pathetone PT 439. This version also appears in 'Pictorial Revue of 1943' - see separate record for details. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
