Iron Maiden - Forum, Milan, Italy, May 9, 1993, during the '' A Real Live Tour'' 1993. Wasting Love (Dickinson, Gers) Bruce Dickinson:Vocals Steve Harris:Bass Janick Gers:Guitar Dave Murray:Guitar Nicko McBrain:Drums [Lyrics] Maybe one day I'll be an honest man Up till now I'm doing the best I can Long roads, long days of sunrise to sunset, sunrise to sunset Dream on brother while you can, Dream on sister, I hope you find the one All of our lives, covered up quickly by the tides of time Spend your days full of emptiness, spend your years full of loneliness Wasting love in a desperate caress, rolling shadows of nights Dream on brother while you can, Dream on sister, I hope you find the one All of our lives, covered up quickly by the tides of time Sands are flowing and the lines are in your hand In your eyes I see the hunger and the desperate cry that tears the night Spend your days full of emptiness, spend your years full of loneliness Wasting love in a desperate caress, rolling shadows of nights Spend your days full of emptiness, spend your years full of loneliness Wasting love in a desperate caress, rolling shadows of nights Spend your days full of emptiness, spend your years full of loneliness Wasting love in a desperate caress, rolling shadows of nights ................................. 'Wasting Love' is a song from Iron Maiden's album ''Fear Of The Dark'',released in 1992. ''Iron Maiden has never been a “love song“ type of band. About the closest they've come has been the 'Charlotte The Harlot' saga of songs, which were anyway pretty far from traditional love songs. 'Wasting Love' is not exactly a love song either, but instead talks about the emptiness and futility of the life of those who collect shallow sexual encounters without ever trying to get into a stable reciprocal relationship. The lyrics are actually quite reminiscent of 'Wasted Years'. This is an inspired and incredibly beautiful song, and has become a classic concert number for a few years. '' 'Fear of the Dark' is the ninth studio album released by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It topped the UK albums chart. Released on 11 May 1992, it was the final studio album to feature Bruce Dickinson as lead vocalist who left the band following the album's support tour to pursue a solo career. He was succeeded by Blaze Bayley, formerly of Wolfsbane, for two studio albums until Dickinson returned to Iron Maiden for the 2000 release of Brave New World.
