TENEBRAE or TENEBRE if you you like. Italian horror master Dario Argento and his trademark visual style, linked with one of his best self biographical plots (Him being stalked while making Inferno and his own troublesome past with his own mother) Tenebrae follows a popular American horror author who arrives to Rome only to find somebody is already using his novels as the inspiration and the means of committing murders! As the body count rises the police are ever baffled, and the writer becomes more closely linked to the case than is comfortable. The killer seems to have a thing or two about women, its explained in flashbacks why he hates women so much because what women did to him as a child. A very daring horror film for 1982 as it touches on many topics that were taboo at that time but never gets sleazy. Also “the “woman“ in the red shoes is not a woman in red shoes, only thing correct about that is a person in red shoes, but not woman if you know what I mean. Argentos best film by many.
