PROGRAM “RESURRECTION“ Missionary visit to the Philippines 2023 text: The historically confirmed presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Philippines today is supported and developed by the mission of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese. New missionary pages have appeared in the chronicle of the establishment of faith in Southeast Asia. They were filled out by the administrator of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese Metropolitan Pavel during his visit to the Philippines in February 2023 with a delegation of clergy and laity of Ugra. Due to the pandemic, the diocese has been managed remotely in recent years. But the systematic work on the construction of new churches and the creation of communities did not stop. Today there are more than 30 parishes in the Philippines. The number of clergymen has increased significantly during the visit of Vladyka Pavel. The Orthodox mission in Southeast Asia is developing systematically and prospectively. Both the Russian clergy and local authorities help in this, but the main path to the formation of the church here must be taken by local clergy, it is for them to bring the enlightening Faith of Christ to the inhabitants of the Philippines and Vietnam.
