A voyage on a 16th Century Spanish Galleon feeling its heart and pulse and learning what it must have been like 500 years ago. Heavily armed, it was vital these ships protected themselves and their cargo from pirates, privateers and ships of other nations. Life was very precarious. We sail from Cowes on the Isle of White, just off Southampton England, up the English Channel to Gravesend on the River Thames, London. It was fascinating.
