The Manor House Nursery School, Kingston Road, Merton, Surrey M/S of group of children gathered around a teacher in the school playground. Teacher is reading, children listening. Various shots of the children-teacher communication. This is not an ordinary class, this is a meeting of the “Tufty Club - Road Safety for Young Children “ The club is creation of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents“. Club is named “after the red squirrel who always tries to do the right thing“. L/S of children singing “The Tufty Club Song“. M/S of the children rising from their seats and walking towards the teachers and a man holding effigy of Tufty. He is an ex-policeman Mr. John Richardson, who believes that “Tufty is a life saver“.
