Charted at #1 on the Billboard R&B chart in 1951. Bostic had two other R&B hits: “Tempation“ (#10 in 1948) and “Sleep“ (#6 in 1951). Original Billboard review: “Bostic applies his successful formula to the standard; he does it as an alto sax solo, on heavy echo. Trick of a heavy, staccato beat instead of the expected dreamy, legato effect makes this a real ear grabber.“ Overall Billboard rating: 84 out of 100. This song had earlier charted at #13 for Duke Ellington in June 1941. Later, it charted at #17 R&B for Little Willie John in 1961 and #28 for Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass at #28 in September 1966 (#5 Adult Contemporary). Written by Edmund Anderson and Ted Grouya. The flip side of this record is “I'm Getting Sentimental Over You“.
