This old plantation farm house was built around 1845-1850 in North Carolina. The original family the house was built for farmed a number of crops as well as owning a lumber mill in town. The mill operated during the civil war until being destroyed by the Union in 1864-1865. There are stories the home was used as a field hospital for a large civil war battle that happened nearby at the very tail end of the war in the winter/ spring of 1865. The house was abandoned in the 1970’s and sat vacant for many years until a restoration was begun in the early 2000’s but then forgotten again sadly. Now it’s almost impossible to even see the house as a large forest has grown up out front of it. Lots of beautiful old details inside. Thanks for watching.
