Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has stated that the presence of French troops undermines the West African country's sovereignty. Currently, some 350 French troops are stationed in the African nation under a bilateral security pact. We hear from Thierno Diop Niang, author and Foreign Policy researcher in the Sahel region, who says that it's time for African states to take responsibility for their own issues after the counterproductive French military presence.
