A Cambridge Freedom To County Regiment (1946)

Pathe News “Special“ item. Announcer begins: “Pathe takes you back to Sunday September the 29th 1946.“ Guild Hall balcony, Cambridge. A group of dignitaries including the Mayor, Councillor Lady Bragg (sp?), Aldermen and Burgesses (?) stand on the balcony in ceremonial robes. The Mayor confers upon the Cambridgeshire County Regiment the freedom of the borough. Panning shot of the large crowd gathered to witness the ceremony. The Mayor makes a speech thanking the Regiment for their efforts during the Second World War. Camera pans across the troops gathered, L/Ss from high angle and closer shots. M/S of the group on the balcony. There is a round of applause after the Mayor finishes her speech.
