Trailing 3-2 with 19.6 seconds remaining in the 3rd period of the 2012 NHL Winter Classic, the Philadelphia Flyers are awarded a penalty shot after officials determined that the New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh covered the puck with his hand inside the crease. The result of the penalty was a head to head matchup between the Flyers' Daniel Briere and Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. On the ensuing penalty shot, King Henrik stopped Briere's attempt and went on to close out the crucial win for the Blueshirts
