Rangers broadcast of a game that saw a 3rd period bench clearing brawl, caused by Chicago’s O’Callahan high sticking Dave Maloney in the face, a cheap shot that gave him 10 stitches. It came just after a Blackhawk goal at 1:35:33. (The high stick itself isn’t shown, it occurred away from the play.) O’Callahan had already received a five minute major in the second period for high sticking Mike Allison that allowed the Rangers to take control of the game. But he still went ahead and did it again. There also was a long delay just prior to the brawl, when the Chicago stadium fans littered the ice with debris after a non-call didn’t go their way. Total PIM for this game was 140. seems like it should have been more. All in all, a very memorable road game. All copyrights property of the NHL and MSG.
