(6 Jul 2012) No Su-hui had a loud and colorful sendoff as he finished a visit in North Korea. Returning home to certain detention in the South through the truce village of Panmunjom was designed to draw attention to his cause. SOT A large crowd, with many waving white unity flags, had lined up to watch No's actual border crossing, as South Korean soldiers and police waited for him. The 68-year-old activist held his own white flag and he was sporting a white unity pin on his lapel as well. The chants grew more and more frantic as the moment approached for him to cross over the demarcation line. UPSOUND and with a cry of “long live national reunification,“ No turned, paused dramatically and then walked into arms of security officials, who wrestled with him through the Demilitarised Zone and later going into a police office. According to South Korea's National Security law, sneaking into the North without government permission is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
