Western AF presents Noeline Hofmann ... Friends and neighbors, Miss Noeline Hofmann. Cowgirl, songwriter, biggest heart on the prairie, has written a song for rancher resilience. Her early years of working in the plains of Alberta as a ranch hand near the Saskatchewan river was such an inspiration to her that she couldn’t keep these beautiful songs locked up. While dealing with the everyday hardships of being a cowhand, Noeline listened to the stories of her co-workers and bosses. Expressing the everyday gambles and trials of working the land. That’s where “Purple Gas,” the anthem or love note to ranching culture, was born. A song that will live in infamy with the hope that it never becomes a lament for the most under-appreciated job in the west. Thank you to Maggie Geis for helping us produce this piece and being our Canadian production wrangler in a land we barely knew. ... More music from Noeline Hofmann: Website: Instagram:
