► Full test in Multihulls World #179: ► 22.5 boat review teaser with Jean-Hubert Pommois, founder & CEO of Astus Boats. This new model from Astus Boats completes a great range of four trimarans all signed by VPLP - meaning the biggest Astus 24 is now discreetly leaving the catalog. The Astus 22.5 made its first runs at La Trinité-sur-Mer in Brittany at the beginning of the summer - we were there and confirmed its excellent potential for simply slipping across the surface. Stiff and high off the water, this multihull is just waiting to make long runs, propelled by its gennaker. With less than 23 feet (7 meters) of central hull, this small trimaran built in infusion is of course foldable - and easily transportable. The interior volume is sufficient to accommodate four proper berths. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Astus Boats Architects: VPLP Length: 22’10” ( m) Beam: 8’2”/16’1” ( m) Mast height: 29’6” (9 m) Draft: 13”/4’7” ( m) Weight: 1,430 lbs (650 kg) Headroom: 5’5” ( m) Mainsail area: 215sq ft (20 m²) Jib: 97 sq ft (9 m²) Gennaker: 345 sq ft (32 m²) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
