The sequence from C to G is just a collection of waltzes as I see it. It's a wonderful concert waltz worth of being played today. The end is quite virtuosic and some figurations remind me of Alkan and similar. Definitely a composer to check out because I think everything from him so far was very nicely crafted and thoughtful! Wollenhaupt(1827-1863) was an american pianist and composer of German origin (born in Germany, died in New York.) He studied in Leipzig with Julius Knorr and Moritz Hauptmann. From 1845 he lived and worked in New York as a piano teacher. Author of about a hundred piano pieces: waltzes, polka, marches, etc .; some of them are still used in music pedagogy.
