In observance of Earth Day, celebrated worldwide on April 22 as an annual event promoting environmental protection, the Quantori AM team organized a special tree-planting activity. Quantorians came together to plant apricot trees in Yerevan, paying homage to Armenian culture, which reveres the apricot tree as a national symbol. Armenia is known for its rich biodiversity, evidenced by forests that account for 11.2% of the country's land area. These forests are climate change warriors, absorbing 2.6 million tons of CO2 annually. These forests are home to unique trees like the Armenian Oak, Wild Apple Tree, and Pine Tree, each with distinctive medicinal properties. Despite their importance, these forests experienced an 11% loss due to deforestation from the 1990s to 2014. Armenia's capital, Yerevan, also suffers from a lack of greenery. “About 50% of our green fund no longer fulfills its function,“ declared Armen Begoyan, Director of the “Greening and Environmental Protection“ ANC at Yerevan Municipality. By planting trees on Earth Day, we at Quantori AM aim not just to pay tribute to our respect for nature but also to contribute to the fight against climate change and the preservation of Armenia's rich biodiversity. We believe every small step makes a big difference!
