Without bottled oxygen and without high altitude Sherpas support, Alan Rouse led a British expedition in the Winter of 1980-81 to attempt Mount Everest by the West Ridge. Along with Joe Tasker and Ade Burgess the expedition members battled fierce winds, bone-cracking cold conditions, numerous health troubles all in the First Everest attempt of the SW Everest Face in this historical documentary: Everest in Winter.
