— The survival of an idea — Next to what appears to be an inherent part of our biological function, resistance also plays an important role in the psychological and existencial human spheres. Resistance is there to help to sustain whatever we identify with, it helps to protect every self-image projected into the world and to ensure that every idea we believe in won’t be easily disrupt. The survival of any concept, from which the individual has attached a sense of meaningfulness into, is as sensitive as the primal survival instincts. A revealing difference is that the body has been hardwired for survival through eons of evolution whereas the ideas and conditionings we fight for, as of life depends on it, are just cultural programs and indoctrinations downloaded in our minds during the upbringing.
