As Germany prepares for a snap election in February following the collapse of the ruling coalition, 113 members of the German Parliament have initiated a ban on the Alternative for Germany (AfD), the major opposition party. They accuse the AfD of violating democratic principles and have labeled it as ‘extremist.’
