Partita in g minor 0:06 Allemande 2:18 Gigue 3:38 Courant 4:55 Sarabande This French suite for solo harpsichord by Froberger was one his last works from a long and illustrious career. He dedicated this particular partita to Sibylla, Duchess of Württemberg, his last student and final patron. Froberger was a composer of keyboard music who had traveled extensively across Europe and acquired the styles of various nations, particularly Italy and France. He had met the likes of Frescobaldi and mostly probably Louis Couperin. By the time he wrote this piece, he had settled down in the Héricourt-Montbéliard region, on the border of France, Switzerland and Germany. I acquired the original MIDI file from Serge Gerbode's amazing website which he dedicated to the lute.
