Hydrogen can be used to generate electricity, run vehicles, and even power heavy industry. And powered by renewable energy, it is an alternative to fossil fuels that can help the EU towards its clean energy transition. Therefore, the European Commission launched in 2022 a new financial instrument: the European Hydrogen Bank. It supports European and global production of renewable hydrogen, accelerating the development of a hydrogen value chain in Europe.
