I purchased this 1960’s Nylint Lil Tow Dune Buggy Tow Truck on eBay July of 2021 for $. I had never seen one of these until this one and was super happy to win the auction. Overall it was in great shape and a perfect candidate for a restoration. The body had severely faded and damaged paint with only a couple spots under the seat that showed the original colors. The tow boom was missing almost all of its paint until I flipped it upside down and found the original color was white. All of the plated parts were in pretty rough shape, I decided to powder coat the hub caps due to the pitting on the surfaces and I nickel plated the windshield, tow winch, and axles. This is the first project I have ever made an injection mold for and was pleasantly surprised with how it came out. The biggest challenge is running the tiny bits at the correct feeds and speeds, I used a .010 inch flat endmill to do the final milling of all the detail work, in total I had roughly 23 hours of cutting time for this mold.
