Theresia is a unique cultural and artistic project at European level. Founded in 2012 at the instigation of a group of patrons, the orchestra brings together musicians under the age of 28 from the main European academic music institutions, providing them with the opportunity to perform in prestigious venues and to deepen their knowledge in the professional and artistic field. The main activity of Theresia is the deepening of the study of historical performance practice of music by authors of the classical period (1770-1820) and the exclusive use of classical instruments. Each year, during six periods of residences, the orchestra members are encouraged to develop and share their artistic vision under the guidance of internationally renowned artists such as Chiara Banchini, Alfredo Bernardini, Giovanni Antonini and others . At the same time, the project also offers participants seminars dedicated to historical musicology, together with further moments of reflection aimed at contributing to the professional growth of the musicians, encouraging them to become aware of their mission as ambassadors of culture within our society. The orchestra musicians come from many European and non-European countries: Austria, Colombia, France, Japan, Italy, Iran, Mexico, New Zealand, Holland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia, United States of America, Switzerland. Since its foundation, Theresia has represented a paradigm of integration and dialogue between cultures, and today it is internationally recognized as one of the most prominent European classical music projects. Theresia is today an internal project of Fondazione ICONS (), which supports the orchestra members through the awarding of learning grants and deals with the artistic and organizational structure of the orchestra. The orchestra is currently co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission. ► follow us on facebook: ► follow us on twitter: ► visit our blog: ► for more video:
