The third single from the Andrew Gurruwiwi Band's debut album 'Sing Your Own Song', out now via Gaga Music. [Wah-tah MAAH-wee] Wata Mäwi is one of the many names of a very ancient Gälpu song line, which sings of the origins and deeds of the West Wind. After beginning its journey on the islands of Minjilang and Warruwi, the West Wind forms in the deep ocean halfway to the mainland, before travelling on giving names to all the places which are sacred to the Gälpu and Birritjama Clans. It is sung in the Gälpu Language.
