Robbie (Polle) Eduard (Delft, 2 December 1948) is a Dutch singer, musician, copywriter and composer. Eduard grew up in the Wippolder in The Hague, the Netherlands and started playing with Peter Tetteroo’s Tee Set in 1965 as a sixteen-year-old. Due to a fight within the Tee Set, Eduard founded the After Tea group in 1967 with Hans van Eijck. In 1968, under the pseudonym De Martino’s, the group had a big hit with ’Moest dat nou’, a parody of De Heikrekels’ music. When Van Eijck returned to the Tee Set in 1969, Eduard assumed the leadership of After Tea. Eduard recorded his debut album ’Net Op Tijd’ with record company Polydor in 1976. The single ’De Bokser’ was on this album. The record was not a hit, and due to the lack of success, Eduard again started working with Peter Koelewijn in 1978. Together they were responsible for Nico Haak’s big hit ’Is Je Moeder Niet Thuis’. In 1979, Koelewijn also produced Polle Eduard’s single ’Ik wil jou’. The song became a modest hit: it reached #33 in the Dutch Top 40 on 5 May 1979.
