Tianmen Mountain (天门山) is a notable landmark located within Tianmen Mountain National Park, Zhangjiajie, in the northwestern part of Hunan Province (湖南省), China. The mountain reaches an elevation of 1,518.6 meters (4,982 feet), making it a prominent feature in the region. It became even more accessible after the construction of the Tianmen Mountain Cableway in 2005, which is celebrated as the “longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world,“ spanning 7,455 meters (24,459 feet) with a total ascent of 1,279 meters (4,196 feet). Visitors to Tianmen Mountain can explore kilometers of paths along the cliff face at the mountain's summit, including sections with glass floors, offering breathtaking views.
