NEW MARETU SONG LETS GOOOO. I woke up an hour late from stream T_T I still provide you all the translation tho! Thanks for those on the MARETU discord for helping a bit with it! I know I haven’t posted in a while either- I promise I’ll get to posting covers soon! Never missing out on a new MARETU song though! Take the translation with a grain of salt as always! Will update description with any important notes in terms of the song! Notes: •The distorted vocals do say “Let’s/Best Dance” •0:41 and 3:39 - I swear I thought I added this but the translation is “Shall we go and become connected with a happy and joyful Kingdom of Heaven?” It’s contrasts the verses about the fruits of reality so I felt it important to clarify that! •As mentioned by @rainbowcream9189, the “Dance of Life” is a painting by a Norwegian artist that depicts the metaphorical representation of the cycle of life; from young to old. The Dance of Life could also reference an African ritual they participate in to connect with the divine. I do not own this song, all credit to MARETU: Interested in joining the Maretu discussion? Join the Maretu discord server!: My Theory: This song screams the vibe of Kikuo’s Dance of Corpses so I feel the meaning is similar to that song, possibly about someone finding reasons to and not to kill themself Additional Theories I read: •With the lines of “It’s a simple thing, it’s very easy”, some speculate it to be about sexual coercion in relation to the same themes of Mind Brand. A comment by @user-jzrr2pk4j under the video states how 0:29, the flowers line can be interpreted as an allegory for genitalia, stating how “I felt that it implied that there are children who are being degraded.” Additionally, “connecting with the kingdom of Heaven” could be an analogy for reaching climax •In relation to the suicide bit, instead of the singer committing, the singer wants a better life for themselves but is unable to obtain it. They want to die but can’t, so they are forced through a “Dance of Life” while continuing to fantasize about death
