I was thrilled that Pulse Audio sent me a couple of instruments from their Vivid Strings to check out. This video is of my first impressions - I literally just downloaded the instruments and got fired in, with no research and no reading, so this is truly my first, unfiltered thought on these wonderful string instruments. You can learn more and purchase the instruments here: So far, they've released their Violin I and Cello instruments which I have reviewed here. Pulse Audio asked me to create a video on this string library. They gave me the instruments for free but are not paying me for my opinion—these are my honest thoughts and opinions. TLDR: This library is remarkably comprehensive with some fabulous articulations (especially the low celli and multiple vibrato options), and I highly recommend it, especially as it is so reasonably priced! The deep, resonant tones of the celli and the variety of vibrato options are outstanding; including harmonics and/or sul tasto/sul ponticello articulations would further enhance its versatility. At its current price, this is a top-tier library that should definitely be on the radar of every composer. As always, please let me know your comments!
