Since I've been on an “Azimuth Binge“ lately, I decided to check the Sony deck, and in the process I discovered that the record level adjustments were a tad skewed to the low side, meaning they had to be turned way up to get any type of calibration point. After finding the record level adjustments on the main board, it became alot easier to bring a tape into calibration, with extra range left over. Once calibrated, the deck is tested with a recording (using dbx) of an old favorite song from the movie soundtrack of “Heavy Metal“. Lissajous patterns on the O'scope are fun to watch too. Song Demo begins at 6:14
