The dancer in this scene is Hanan, a popular Egyptian bellydancer from the 70s (not to be confused with actress and former ballerina Hanan Turk). The music is ’Fi youm wa leyla’ (A day and a night) originally sung by Warda al Jazairia. This scene is from the 1979 Egyptian film ’Khalli Balak Min Geranak’ (Watch Out for Your Neighbours خلي بالك من جيرانك) which starred Adel Imam and Lebleba playing newly weds Ahmed and Nawal. They move into a new apartment only to find that not only is the building lift (elevator) not working, but the apartment is devoid of furniture and they have to share the empty space with their eccentric neighbour, played by Fouad al Mohandes.
